Meet Marlea Hutson

I’m Marlea Hutson, a Social Worker, Coach, Counsellor and Educator based in Ballarat. I have supported people through disability advocacy, mental health services, carer support, NDIS specialist support coordination and family systems. My work has always centred on creating spaces where people feel heard, respected and empowered to make decisions that align with their values.

My formal qualifications include a Master of Social Work, a Graduate Diploma in Education, and Bachelor of Educational Studies from Latrobe University. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my practice. I’ve worked across health, education and community services, and I understand the reality of navigating complex systems such as the NDIS, healthcare and carer networks.

My Approach

I believe in starting where you are and walking alongside you as you take the next steps forward.

My approach draws on:

  • Trauma-informed care that prioritises safety, trust and empowerment

  • Cultural safety that respects and values your background and identity

  • Narrative therapy that honours the power of your story and your voice

  • Ecological frameworks that recognise the importance of your relationships, environment and community

This means our work together is guided by compassion, practical strategies and a deep respect for your lived experience.
